Does UTA place NP students with preceptors?
UTA asks students to locate a preceptor aligned with their program requirements, and says the Department of Graduate Nursing will help when a student is experiencing difficulty. Most students start their own search. See what UTA's assistance covers.

We look for a preceptor and clinical site that fit your UTA course, check them against UTA's published requirements, and help you prepare what the Clinical Coordinator reviews, including the Preceptor Agreement. Will UTA accept a preceptor you find?
UTA gives the final approval: the Clinical Coordinator and course faculty approve preceptors and sites, and the site needs an affiliation agreement with UTA. We match every candidate to UTA's rules and build the request with you, so what reaches them is complete and ready for a decision.
How much does it cost?

I'm in the RN-to-BSN. Do I need a preceptor?
UTA says RN-to-BSN students will not need to identify a specific preceptor. Your practice work happens at your workplace or in the community. The RN-to-BSN page covers what you still need to arrange.
